Welcome Director Hinthorn
Director Hinthorn is a seasoned school administrator with 21 years of experience. He served as the Assistant Principal at McMinnville High School, where he was for the past 12 years. Previously, he served as the principal of Newby School in McMinnville for seven years, where he implemented a successful Two-Way Dual Language Immersion program. Under his leadership, the school was recognized as a Distinguished School by the Oregon Department of Education.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Spanish from the University of Oregon and an ESL endorsement from Lewis and Clark University, Director Hinthorn is not only fluent in Spanish but also well-versed in the pedagogical approaches required for effective bilingual education. His teaching career, which includes years of experience in dual language immersion programs, underscores his dedication to fostering bilingualism and biliteracy among students. Director Hinthorn is passionate about igniting the fire for learning in his students, creating an environment where curiosity and academic excellence thrive.
In addition to his professional achievements, Director Hinthorn enjoys spending time in Oaxaca, Mexico, his second home since 1988, where he works to support impoverished communities and has developed a deep appreciation for the local culture and traditions. These personal experiences have further enriched his understanding and competency in working within multicultural environments.
